Mahal - Coral is a hand-knotted wool Indian carpet. This traditional Persian design takes its roots from a time whenMughal emperors ruled India. Starting with Babur’s invasion in 1526 and ending with the death of Muhamed Shahin 1748, this period is viewed as a renaissance of Indian art and literature. This pattern features intertwining leavesand tendrils against a cream field. Mahal-Coral is woven by master weavers using handspun, high-twist Ghazni wool.This special wool has the ability to brilliantly enhance dyes resulting in rich, radiant, and fluid colors. Woven with atraditional Persian knot at about 140 hand-tied knots per square inch, this rug will lastmany lifetimes.
